Sat 3 May

The road into Carzola Park snaked  its way up, up and away then down, down into the valley of the Rio Guadalquivir, Andalucia’s longest river and the main artery of the park.  We followed the course of river and its key features which were wearing their picture postcard best and made a top draw day out.

Sunday 4th May

After camping overnight we set off on a stroll in the park that turned out to be a 20km day’s hike along the Rio Borosa.  The river cascades its way from two mountain lakes to meet up with the Rio Guadalquivir. It gouges through limestone cliff walls along its journey creating spectacular views at each bend in the river, showing off nature’s skills as a landscape gardener.
