Creatures from the deep at La Garoffa
We upped sticks from La Garoffa campsite (west of Almeria) and moved east to the strange volcanic landscape of Cabo de Gata where condo blight and fish and chips have yet to take hold. This mineral rich southern most tip of the Iberian peninsular has been designated a Natural Park since 1987. Salt extraction lagoons have now morphed into migration stopovers for flamingos and other exotic birds.

We are not set up for bird photography but the pics give you some idea of how species rich this area is.
